| Learn how two community members, Mrs. Shin Kwang-Ha and Mr. Lim Hyun Sic, received essential services from the MinKwon Center this year. |

Like many of you, we at the MinKwon Center are counting down the final hours before the difficult year of 2020 is finally over.
The COVID-19 pandemic, federal and state negligence, soaring unemployment and food insecurity, police violence, a critical election year, a potential eviction and displacement disaster -- our communities were hit with struggle after struggle that seemed impossible at times and will not magically disappear with a turn in the calendar.
As we prepare for a new administration, the rollout of COVID-19 vaccines, and voters electing new seats for two-thirds of City Council and the Mayor, we ask that you'll make a year-end donation to help the MinKwon Center fight for a just and transformative recovery in 2021.
We created brand-new services to respond to the urgent needs of low-income New Yorkers. We helped 5,000 community members apply for unemployment through our COVID-19 Korean Language NYC Hotline, including Mrs. Shin Kwang-Ha who was already sick when the first NY on PAUSE order began in March.
We gave direct cash assistance to 1,480 undocumented Korean American families who were denied stimulus checks, including Mr. Lim Hyun-Sic who had to close his restaurant back in February due to COVID-related loss in business.
We anticipate an even greater need in 2021 so our communities can survive the second wave. Will you give to our neighbors who continue to be left behind by Albany and D.C.?
We send our warmth and solidarity to our community members, youth, tenants, volunteers, staff, board, and supporters who rose up to the task of serving and defending marginalized immigrants in 2020. We wish everyone a happy, safe, and responsible New Year holiday with well-deserved rest. May we recommit to Live Righteously, Know Our Roots, and Live in Harmony for 2021.
